DevaCurl Do the Deva 3-Step Kit 5 Piece Kit Review

5 piece kit includes angel (for more info see: DevaCurl AnGel Light Holding Defining Gel 12 fl oz (355 ml)) and then travel size bottle of no poo (for more info see: DEVA by Deva Concepts: CURL NO POO CONDITIONING CLEANSER 12 OZ)and travel size bottle of one conditioner (for more info see: Deva Curl One Condition (12 oz)) and a towel (for more info see: DevaCurl Deva Towel). The fifth item is the bag it comes in (I didn't really feel like this should count as a 5th item but for $26 I got a towel that is normally $12 and angel which is typically $15 plus two travel size bottles of conditioner and no poo so it isn't a bad deal with the 4 items.
I bought this because I wanted the towel and I like the travel size bottles for the gym. The towel is pretty small but I find it is a good size for absorbing the water right after the shower so I don't feel like I am dripping every where. This is not a towel you can wrap your hair in. I have been using this little towel then I use angel and b'leave in volumizerDeva Curl B'Leave-In 6oz. Finally, I wrap my hair in mimi's diva dryer microfiber hair turbin. If you are looking for a towel that can wrap around your head then I recommend the microfiber turbin over this (for more info see: Mimi's Diva Dryer by Aquis Microfiber Hair Towel, Pink (19 x 39-Inches)). Still, for what I wanted this works perfectly.
I really like deva curl products as whole. I started doing the no poo thing in July 2010 and was immensly doubtful. My sister suggested that I try it. Ten months later I am amazed at how much more defined my curls are. As it turns out as I have gradually bought into the idea of no poo I do have swavy hair. Prior January 2011 I thought I had straight hair with some bounce that was just easy to get it to have different looks if I put a bit of effort and product. I love my hair but don't like to spend time on it so figuring out how to keep moisture in my hair has done wonders. When I started out with the no poo thing I used sauve coconut conditioner. I didn't start using the deva products until January 2011. I started using the products after I got the curly hair book (for more info see: Curly Girl: The Handbook)for Christmas.
In the end I am happy with what I got. If you are looking for more product (ie not travel size items), 5 deva curl products (ie bag is pretty useless to me), or towel that is "normal" size then you might want to go for something else.
