I have color treated hair (once every 6 weeks, natural blonde but maintain brunette color). This shampoo and its associated conditioner was recommended by my colorist and I'm very happy with it. It doesn't leave a residue, it's free of harsh surfactants, it rinses clean, and a little goes a long way. Whether it's more or less gentle on color I can't comment, it's the only shampoo I've ever used since starting to dye my hair.However, it does not create much lather. This does not change the effectiveness at all but it does take a little getting used to.
